Central Highlands needs more preferential policies to attract investment

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung has tasked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to perfect preferential mechanisms and policies to boost investments and ensure national defense and security in the Central Highlands region.

The Government chief made the request at the 2nd Conference on Investment Promotion for the Central Highlands region held in Gia Lai province on April 12.

He also urged localities in the region to step up mobilization of domestic and foreign resources to improve infrastructure system, especially roads connecting to seaports, airports, coastal urban and adjacent areas.

The region needs to develop a high-quality workforce, take proper measures to encourage technological application, renovation and transfer, and accelerate administrative reform to create a favorable business environment.

Bo Y and Le Thanh Economic Zones will be further invested to become a driving force for the region’s socio-economic development.

PM Dung pointed out that investment attraction into the Central Highlands must be combined with the guarantee of national defense and security as well as social order and safety of the region.

During this conference, commercial banks and enterprises signed 28 credit contracts to finance VND 23,899 billion for production of coffee, rubber and power generation.

Leaders of the regional provinces also handed over investment certificates to 13 businesses with total investment of over VND 16 trillion./.
