The Committee is assigned to select appropriate businesses to continue their capital contribution to the Sai Gon Medical Investment Jsc. (MECO) in the project’s second phase.
Responsible for investment time and effectiveness, the Committee is asked to appoint a representative for its contributed capital and take necessary measures to ensure the hospital’s stable and effective operation.
The Ministry of Health is entrusted to work with the Committee to direct Cho Ray Hospital and other hospitals based in Ho Chi Minh City in supporting the Cho Ray-Phnom Penh Hospital in medical techniques, human resources, training and technological transfer.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment is asked to adjust the project’s investment certificate for the MECO as regulated.
The Cho Ray-Phnom Penh is the first cooperative work between Viet Nam and Cambodia in developing modern medical facilities to serve Cambodian.
In the project’s first phase, nearly US$38 million was invested to build a 200-bed hospital in accordance with European standards, which was inaugurated on January 13, 2014. Over 60,000 patients have been examined and treated at the hospital.
It is planned to add 300 more beds and further medical equipment to the current facilities in the second phase.
