Gov’t chief receives int’l guests

VGP – The Vietnamese Government vows to spare no effort to join hands with the Finnish Government to put into reality the signed agreements for better bilateral ties, said PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.

The Vietnamese PM expressed his pleasure at the fine traditional ties between Việt Nam and Finland in all fields while hosting a reception to Mr. Sauli Niinisto, Speaker of the Parliament of Finland.

The host leader pledged that the Vietnamese Government would cement and deepen the bilateral ties by fulfilling the agreements reached during Finnish PM Matti Vanhanen’s official visit to Việt Nam last year.

Highlighting the positive roles played by Finland in tackling international issues and global threats, PM Dũng affirmed that the Vietnamese Government and people always treasure and attach importance to consolidating the traditional and friendly ties with the Northern European country for the sake of mutual benefits.

The host leader proposed that the two sides should figure out ways to spur cultural and educational linkages.

Meanwhile, the Finnish Speaker stressed that, with their huge potentials for cooperation, the two countries could easily realize the set target of raising their two-way trade turnover to US $1 billion soon.

Finland is willing to share its attained experience with Việt Nam in all fields, said the guest.

On the same day, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng received outgoing Greek Ambassador Platon Alexis Hadjimichalis who has made positive contributions to strengthening humanitarian activities, especially for Vietnamese AO/dioxin victims.

The Government chief took the occasion to call for the Ambassador to support to the opening of the Vietnamese embassy in Greece as well as further promote the friendship between the two countries and peoples.
