Gov’t encourages young scientists to enhance innovation

VGP - The Party, State and Government place their belief on youths and young scientists in the national establishment and development, said PM Nguyen Tan Dung at a meeting with outstanding young scientists on September 11 in Ha Noi.

The meeting, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, attracted the participation of leaders and representatives from ministries and agencies and nearly 70 outstanding young scientists nationwide.

On behalf of the Government, PM Dung praised efforts and achievements of Vietnamese young scientists, expecting that they will do their utmost to contribute to the national development.

The Party and State identify human resource development, especially high-quality human resources in accordance with science and technology development and application as one of the three strategic breakthroughs, he said.

He asked the Ministry of Science and Technology, ministries and agencies, institutes, universities and businesses to propose realistic and effective mechanisms, policies and measures to facilitate young scientists' access to science and technology funds and participation in State scientific programs and plans.

Activities on enhancing international cooperation in science and technology and training young scientists will be promoted.  

After listening to proposals of young scientists, the PM directly exchanged with them about policies to create favorable conditions for renovation.

The Government will do its utmost, with highest responsibilities to boost education and training, develop high-quality human resources and science and technology, he affirmed.

He highly valued projects and products, which are meaningful to society, including the invention of the Haptic Eyes, which is aimed at helping blinds assimilate into lives.

PM Dung revealed that the Government will support expenditures for the Haptic Eyes project to offer free glasses to 300,000 blinds in Viet Nam.
