The Northern Key Economic Region groups Ha Noi and Hai Phong cities and five provinces of Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, and Hai Duong. 

Preserving and upholding cultural values

The master scheme gives a priority to preservation and development of cultural heritages, especially the world heritages and special national relics.

It also targets to accelerate the campaign “The entire people are united to build cultural life in residential areas” in combination with the building of new rural areas, civilized and modern urban centers.

The region will uphold traditional art performance especially Quan Ho folk singing, ceremonial singing (Ca Tru), Cheo singing, art of puppet-showing and perfect the organization of festivals like flamboyant festival and Ha Long Carnival. 

Becoming a leading tourism center

The scheme is expected convert the Northern key economic region into a leading tourism hub with diversified and unique tourism services.

It also aims to lure around 9 million foreign arrivals and over 26 domestic tourists to the region, raise tourism revenue to nearly VND 170 trillion; and generate 350,000 jobs.

Especially, tourism services focus on the values of Red River civilization, culture, sprit, and islands.

National tourism sites and tourism urban centers will be developed./.
