PM Dung hails strategic partnership with Japan
VGP - The strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Japan has brought back practical benefits to both countries, noted PM Nguyen Tan Dung during his Monday reception for Japanese Minister of Defense Itsunori Onodera who is on a working visit to Viet Nam.

PM Dung affirmed Viet Nam's consistent policy of attaching importance to the strategic partnership with Japan for peace and prosperity in Asia. He expressed his hope that both sides would support each other at regional and international forums, especially the United Nations.
The Government chief called for strong cooperation between the two defense ministries through dialogues and exchanges of delegations to increase friendship and mutual understanding. The Japanese side was asked to assist Viet Nam in training foreign languages, modernizing marine police force, and joining the UN-led peacekeeping operations.
At the talks held earlier between Itsunori Onodera and his Vietnamese counterpart Phung Quang Thanh, the two Ministries of Defense had agreed to cooperate in human resource training, bomb and mine clearance, modernization of marine police force, and military technical area, according to Minister Itsunori Onodera.
He expects that the Vietnamese Government would always advocate the two ministries' cooperation./.
