PM Dung holds talks with Belgian counterpart

The two PMs lauded the multi-faceted cooperative relations between the two nations over the past 40 years.
 
Belgium advocated the signing of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the EU and Viet Nam, said the Belgian PM, who also noted that the FTA and the EU-Viet Nam Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) will help strengthen the relationship between Viet Nam and the EU nations.
 
The two leaders agreed to enhance trade cooperation by creating favorable conditions for the two nations’ businesses to promote prioritized areas such as seaports, logistics, transportation, green technology, high technology, aviation and space.
 
They were unanimous in maintaining the meetings of the Joint Committee on economic cooperation with the aim of increasing the effectiveness of projects and cooperative mechanisms.
 
The two PMs confirmed to assist the two sides’ universities and institutes in exchanging experience and enhancing cooperation.
 
They also exchanged issues in terms of cooperation and security in the Asia-Pacific, highlighting the importance of marine peace, stability, security, safety and freedom in the East Sea, dealing with conflicts with peaceful measures and prevent the use of forces in line with international law, including the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, working towards an early conclusion of a Code of Conduct.
 
The Belgium’s PM expected that PM Dung’s visit will accelerate the multi-dimensional relations, contributing to regional and global pace, stability, cooperation and prosperity.
 
After the talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing of an Agreement on Satellite on observing natural resources and calamity and a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of Hai Phong Port.
