PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng visits Argentina

VGP– A Vietnamese delegation, headed by PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, started an official visit to Argentina yesterday after attending the recent Nuclear Security Summit in the United States.

The visit aims at fostering the economical ties of Việt Nam with other members of the Latin American region, especially Argentina .

Việt Nam and Argentina established their diplomatic ties in 1973. Both sides have sealed numerous agreements and deals on cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, economy, investment, politics, veterinary, nuclear energy and science technology.

The two-way trade turnover of both countries stood at US $316 million in 2007, increased to US $400 million in 2008 and reached US $634 million in 2009.

Việt Nam has exported many products to Argentina such as textiles, shoes, rubber, electric and electronic goods, boilers, mechanical equipment, woodwork, and foodstuff.

Meanwhile, Argentina has invested in many large-scale projects in Việt Nam . The country spent US $120,000 to produce biological products and is sharing another US $1.4 billion with Vietnamese partners for three power projects in Việt Nam .
