PM Dũng suggested both should maintain the annual politic consultation mechanism between the two foreign ministries and coordinate to accelerate bilateral cooperation in the sub-Mekong region.

The two countries need to speed up the realization of inked programs and agreements, particularly in agriculture, finance, telecommunication and energy.

The Government chief affirmed Việt Nam’s consistent policy of supporting Myanmar to assume the ASEAN Presidency in 2014 and closely coordinating with Myanmar at regional forums.

PM Dũng took the occasion to congratulate Myanmar on its recent socio-economic development achievements over the past time.

President Thein Sein noted that the two countries have expanded cooperation to a number of areas, namely economics, trade, security and national defense with positive results recorded.

The President hoped that Việt Nam would share its development experiences with Myanmar.

He also thanked Việt Nam for its support to his country at regional and international forums, pledging to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors doing business in Myanmar.
