PM instructs tax and customs reform

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on August 5 issued an instruction to strengthen the management and administrative reform in the areas of tax and customs.

PM Dung requested ministries, agencies and local authorities to effectively implement the Government’s Resolution 19 on major tasks and solutions to improve the business environment and national competitiveness, and the Government’s resolutions on streamlining  administrative procedures especially those on customs and tax.

The Ministry of Finance instructs measures to prevent loss of tax collection, transfer pricing; strengthen tax management and control over illegal trading and trade frauds.

The Government chief tasked the Ministry of Finance to instruct the General Departments of Tax and Customs to fulfill the pre-set goal of budget collection in 2014; support damaged enterprises in some localities; and cut unnecessary administrative procedures.

By late 2014, 95% of enterprises will have to undertake e-tax registration. Up to 15 out 63 localities will process tax payment online by late 2014. One hundred percent of localities will apply e-tax payment by late 2015.

The PM also asks for more transparency and openness in tax and customs administrative procedures; effective implementation of one-stop-shop mechanism; and investment in modern equipment, arrangement of staff./.
