PM makes a decision on State Committee for overseas Vietnamese
VGP – To function as the main implementer and work with ministries, sectors, agencies, organizations and local authorities in enabling overseas Vietnamese to settle and integrate into the hosting countries is one of duties of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (SCOV).
| Under a newly-issued decision of the PM, the SCOV, administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is in charge of the State management over the overseas Vietnamese-related work. The Committee will direct and instruct Việt Nam’s representative agencies in other countries to realize the State’s guideline, policies and laws on overseas Vietnamese. The SCOV will provide overseas Vietnamese with information about the State’s laws and the fatherland’s situations; assist them in keeping Vietnamese language, cultural identities and national traditions. The Committee will also survey and sum up the realities of the Vietnamese communities in other countries; and undertake international affairs relating to overseas Vietnamese in conformity with laws.
