The PM required all relevant bodies to ensure legitimate rights of Vietnamese nationals in line with international laws, conventions and practices; facilitate their solidarity and mutual assistance in daily life; meet their demands for information, Vietnamese language courses, cultural and religious activities.
In addition, it is necessary to timely commend and reward those who make great contributions to the fatherland as well as encourage overseas Vietnamese to take part in the national development.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was required to collaborate with relevant offices to cement and deepen relations with the hosting authorities in order to help the Vietnamese communities integrate into local society and protect their legitimate rights.
The PM asked ministries, agencies and local authorities to propose, prior to September 30, 2008, the revision, supplementation or issuance of regulations on overseas Vietnamese’s purchase and ownership of real estate in Việt Nam.
