PM wishes Myanmar stable to focus on national development
VNGOP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng expressed his wish while welcoming the visiting UN Under-Secretary General/Special Advisor Ibrahim Gambari in the afternoon of November 26.
 | | Photo: VNGOP | Mr. Ibrahim Gambari informed the UN’s viewpoint in dealing with Myanmar’s situations: The UN’s role as a moderator is very helpful. However, it is necessary for Myanmar to take time, great efforts and a general approach to deal with current challenges. The guest highly valued the role of the neighboring countries and ASEAN members, including Việt Nam, and said that the Myanmar Government is proactively collaborating with the UN in solving its issues properly. PM Dũng affirmed that Việt Nam, as an ASEAN country and Myanmar’s neighbor, will do its best to help Myanmar. The PM emphasized that Việt Nam pays respect to the Myanmar people’s right of self-determination, supports the process of national conciliation and harmony, and applauded Myanmar’s cooperation with the UN. He went on to say that Việt Nam gives no support to blockage and embargo against any country because these are ineffective solutions which can cause negative impacts on the poor and children.
