The PM just ratified the master planning scheme for Hải Phòng to 2025 and with visions to 2050.
Accordingly, the city will be enlarged to the east, southeast and northwest.
The 728-ha Bắc Sông Cấm Urban Quarter will become the city’s administrative, political, financial and trade center. Meanwhile, Kiến An District will be developed into a new tourist area.
The total area for industrial purposes is 16,329 ha by 2025, including 9,504 for industrial parks.
Rural resident area and agricultural lands are located in the southern part of the city, concentrating in the districts of Vĩnh Bảo, Tiên Lãng, and Kiến Thụy. The islands of Cát Bà and Bạch Long Vỹ are reserved for aquaculture. A green belt will be formed to protect the city.
In terms of communication, the Hà Nội-Hải Phòng railway route will be upgraded. Apart from the Cát Bi International Airport, some new ones will be built in Đồ Sơn, Cát Bà, and Bạch Long Vỹ for tourism and rescue work.
The Chùa Vẽ and Đình Vũ ports are also upgrade soon and Hoàng Diệu Port will be converted into an international passenger port.
