Program on rapid, sustainable poverty reduction reviewed
VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on May 8 chaired a national online conference reviewing the six-year implementation of the Government’s Resolution on the Program on Rapid and Sustainable Poverty Reduction in poor districts.

According to a report of the Ministry of Labor, Invalid and Social Affairs, the Resolution, a guideline of the Party and State, aims to promote socio-economic development and reduce poverty in mountainous areas inhabited by ethnic minorities.
The program has received attention and funding from all ministries, agencies and community, especially assistances from economic corporations and businesses.
As much as VND20,189 billion were allocated and mobilized for the targetted poor districts. Of the figure, the central budget contributed VND17,051 billion, the local budget VND2,000 billion and businesses VND3,138 billion.
The Government Resolution 30a has created good opportunities for gathering great investment resources for social-economic infrastructure upgrade, poverty elimination and ensuring social security.
Up to 62 poor districts are benefitting from the Resolution 30a, including 869 communes and towns of 20 provinces.
