Rach Gia upgraded into second-grade city
VGP – The PM has agreed to recognize Rach Gia in the southern province of Kien Giang as a second-grade city.
Rach Gia functions as a provincial administrative, economic, cultural, tourism and service hub and a transport and trade centre between Kien Giang and other Mekong Delta provinces.
Earlier, Rach Gia town became a third-grade city in 2005.
So far, income per capita in the city touched VND 44.6 million. Up to 85.36% of urban residents live on non-agricultural jobs./.
