PM Dung urged the two countries to increase high-level exchanges, quickly remove elements which hinder the bilateral cooperation, actively carry out agreements reached by their senior leaders, and strengthen economic-investment-trade-tourism linkages.

Regarding the sea issue, PM Dung asked the two sides to effectively control the situation, avoid new complicated developments that may do harm to the bilateral ties; speed up negotiation mechanisms for sea-related issues, especially the working group on the waters off the mouth of the Tonkin Gulf.

The PM stressed on the importance of sincere cooperation and frank discussions in addressing border and territorial divergences between the two countries on the basis of mutual respect and the agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues signed in Beijing on October 2011.

PM Dung also took the occasion to extend greetings to General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and other senior leaders.

For his part, Mr. Yu said his visit to Viet Nam aims to consolidate political trust and beef up cooperation and exchanges between the two Parties and States.

The Chinese official affirmed that his country always attaches importance to the friendship and cooperation with Viet Nam, particularly in the current context.

He agreed on the need to boost contacts and exchanges between the two Parties and States, add more substance to the bilateral cooperation, launch joint projects, and coordinate in maintaining stability at sea./.
