VN, Kuwait beef up energy cooperation
VGP – Viet Nam regards Kuwait as one of its key economic partners and hopes to foster linkages particularly in oil and gas, asserted PM Nguyen Tan Dung.

PM Dung on Tuesday in Ha Noi received Kuwaiti Deputy PM and Minister of Oil Mustafa Al- Shemali who is in Viet Nam for the upcoming ground-breaking ceremony of Nghi Son refinery project in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa.
The host leader praised the Kuwaiti Government for supporting the project especially its commitment to supplying crude oil in a lifelong run for the Nghi Son refinery petrochemical complex.
Deputy PM Mustafa Al-Shemali said he was pleased to witness the upcoming ground breaking of the complex which is a joint venture project between Kuwait, Japan and Viet Nam.
Viet Nam and Kuwait, said the guest leader, own vast potentials for further cooperation.
Kuwait wants to shake hands with Viet Nam in the energy, industry and petroleum sectors said Mr. Mustafa Al-Shemali while promising to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors to do business in Kuwait.
Mustafa Al- Shemali announced the Kuwaiti Government has decided to provide US$ 3 million in emergency aid to support people affected by the recent tropical storm Nari in central Viet Nam and stands ready to support the Southeast Asian country on personnel training in the oil and gas field./.
