Welcoming Myanmar’s Minister of Information Ye Htut to Viet Nam at a reception on January 20, PM Dung highly valued the talks between two ministries and the traditional relations between the two nations.

He said he hoped that the two sides will accelerate the cooperation in terms of politics and diplomacy as well as contributing to establishing an ASEAN Community and ensuring regional peace and security, and stepping up the affiliations in other fields such as economics, trade, investment and tourism to bring benefits for both.

The PM proposed Myanmar soon license Vietnamese businesses to launch telecommunication services and open branches of Viet Nam’s banks there.

In addition, the two nations should enhance the implementation of 13 cooperative areas reached by their high-ranking leaders, he added.

Minister Ye Htut hoped for the early signing of cooperative agreements with the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications, Viet Nam Television and the Voice of Viet Nam to share information and experience.

The Minister also welcomed Viet Nam’s information and communication enterprises to invest in Myanmar for the sake of both sides.
