VN, Thailand boost trade linkages

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung urged Vietnam and Thailand to seek ways to beef up trade and investment linkages during his reception to visting Thai Minister of Commerce Boonsong Teriyapirom.

PM Dung said that the comprehensive ties between Vietnam and Thailand have been flourishing over the past time, especially in the domains of economics, trade and investment.

Vietnam, said the host leader hopes to shake hands with Thailand to develop the multi-faceted cooperation for mutual benefits.

The Government chief suggested that the two sides should step up cooperation in rice production and export while quickly formulating cooperative mechanism for this sector.

For his part, Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom briefed the PM about his recent talks with Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang.

Thailand always hopes to strengthen the trade linkages with Vietnam while striving for an annual trade growth of over 20%, the Thai Minister affirmed. 

He said he would encourage more Thai enterprises to beef up their presence in Vietnam and pledged to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors.

Besides rice production, Thailand also wants to enhance cooperation with Vietnam in aquaculture breeding and processing, the guest leader said./.
