VN, Ukraine vow to push friendship and cooperation
VGP – Viet Nam and Ukraine have agreed to step up exchange of delegations at all levels and cooperation in the fields of politics, economics-trade-investment, national defence and security, agriculture among others.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung and his Ukrainian counterpart, Mykola Azarov, reached the above agreement during their talks in Ha Noi on November 16.
The two countries committed to faciliating business circles to access respective markets. Ukrainian side praised Viet Nam for expanding invetments and export of footwear, garments, timber, and farm produce to the Eastern European market.
Meanwhile, Viet Nam pledged to create favorable conditions for Ukrainian enterprises to come and seek investment opportunities in mechanics, mineral exploitation, energy, and aviation.
Praising the operations of the Viet Nam-Ukraine Inter-governmental Commission for economic-trade and scientic-technological cooperation, the two PMs stressed the need to enhance the Commission’s effectiveness.
Both sides are considering accelerating negotiations for a bilateral free trade agreement in a bid to strengthen trade and investment linkages.
The two PMs noted that bilateral cultural and tourism cooperation has played an important role in enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations.
They also affirmed that the two sides would continue to support each other at international organizations and multi-lateral forums.
Ukraine advocates Viet Nam to stand for election to the Human Rights Council tenure 2016-2018, UN Economic and Social Council tenure 2016 – 2018, and UN Security Council for the 2020 – 2021 period.
Viet Nam also supports Ukraine to run for a seat at the UN Security Council tenure 2016-2017, UN Human Rights Council tenure 2018-2020 and UN Economic and Social Council in the 2019-2021 period.
