VN to open embassy in Kazakhstan

VNGOP – The PM on July 10 assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish the Vietnamese embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan as soon as possible. The Ministry was also entrusted to collaborate with relevant ministries and agencies to negotiate and sign an agreement between Việt Nam and Kazakhstan on visa exemption for diplomatic and business passport holders.

The PM also asked the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies to negotiate with the Kazakh counterparts for an agreement on avoidance of double taxation; Ministry of Planning and Investment negotiate for an agreement on investment encouragement and protection; National Administration of Tourism to study possibilities to sign a tourism cooperation pact and report to the PM for decision; and the Ministry of Transport to research conditions for launching a direct airline between Hà Nội and Almaty of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Trade was ordered to restart the performance of the Việt Nam-Kazakhstan Joint Committee for Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation; open the Việt Nam Trade Center in Kazakhstan; and take measures to boost trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. The PM also entrusted the Ministry of Industry to promptly study possibilities for the cooperation in oil exploitation, manufacturing mechanics, metallurgy, and mining in Kazakhstan.
