Vinh Airport to be upgraded into int’l airport
VGP – The PM has agreed a plan to upgrade Vinh Airport in the central region into an international airport after the year 2030, with post-2030 orientations.
The Vinh Airport overall plan was approved by the Ministry of Transport in 2006 and adjusted in 2011.
By 2025, the airport is expected to receive 2.5 million passengers per year with seven aircraft parking positions. By 2030, the number will reach 7 million per year.
The airport welcomed 1.25 million visitors in 2014, making an average growth rate of 43.89% per year over the past 13 years.
