Total investment for the project is US$95.471 million, of which US$79.17 million is covered by Official Development Assistance (ODA) loans.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade will implement the project within two years from 2013-2014 in the Central Highlands provinces of Kon Tum and Gia Lai.
The project is aimed at transporting 80% of the low-cost electricity imported from the South of Laos and the northeast of Cambodia to Viet Nam.
It is expected to provide high-quality and safe electricity for the country and the Central Highlands, creating a premise for connecting three nations’ electricity systems.
