The nine provinces and cities include Quang Ninh (VND 100 billion); Lang Son (VND 15 billion); Dien Bien and Ha Giang (VND 20 billion for each); Lai Chau and Son La (VND 10 billion), Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong and Thanh Hoa (VND 15 billion).

The package of money will be disbursed to support local residents to repair essential infrastructure.

The Government chief also tasked the People’s Committees to allocate local budgets and mobilize other resources to overcome consequences and disburse the above emergency relief.  

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport were assigned to support families of victims; provide antiseptic medicines to prevent possible epidemics; and surmount landslides.

Earlier, the heavy rain from July 24 to August 6 brought in heavy and long-lasting rain.

Epecially, the historic rain in Quang Ninh caused serious losses in lives and properties. Around 42 people were reported death. Up to 340 houses were submerged or destroyed. In addition, 16,992 hectares of rice and 6,551 hectares of fruits and vegetables were damaged. The total economic loss was estimated at over VND 4,614 billion./.
