Gov’t chief gives nod to foreign-funded projects
VGP – The PM just approved the technical support project "Feasible research on excluding arsenic from drinking water and treating sewage for a small and medium settlement” run by the Đồng Tháp Province People’s Committee and granted with a non-refundable aid of €285,250 by FASEP (France).
| Rural children joyfully play with clean water – Illustration photo | The PM also okayed the €8.950-million project on water supplies and hygiene in Bình Định Province and the agreement between the governments of Việt Nam and Belgium for the project. He ratified the outcome of the negotiations for the agreement and related documents for the Project "Database to manage and modernize the banking system" loaned by the World Bank. This project is also given with a non-refundable aid worth of US $0.83 million from the Japan Policy and Human Resources Development (PHRD). The project consists of four work items: (i) building up an international payment system among different banks; (ii) establishing internal payment system for commercial banks; (iii) solidifying the institution of commercial banks; and (iv) providing technical assistance for project management.
