Under the new decree, six main activities for the legal cooperation with foreign partners are: (1) Drafting, assessing, and checking legal documents; (2) Organizing the implementation of legal documents and international conventions participated by Việt Nam; (3) Increasing capacity of law-makers; (4) training laws at tertiary level; (5) law information, dissemination, education and legal assistance; and (6) other activities as stipulated by laws.
All cooperation programs and projects which are ratified by the PM, must be assessed by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) before submitted to the PM for approval.
When assessing these programs and projects, the MoJ has the right to ask the relevant agencies (ministries, ministerial bodies, governmental agencies, central organs of socio-political, social, and socio-professional organizations, provincial-level People’s Committees) to clarify or provide information and documents relating to the programs/projects; organize consultations and discussions if necessary.
