These localities include Đà Nẵng City and three provinces of Quảng Nam, Khánh Hòa and Bình Định.

Đà Nẵng will receive 600 tons of rice, Quảng Nam 3,000 tons, Khánh Hòa 500 tons and Bình Định 3,000 tons.

The relief comes from the national reserve for urgent cases.

The People’s Committees of the four localities were assigned to receive the relief and deliver to the victims.

This is the fourth time in 2010 the Government has taken such action to support localities to mitigate negative impacts of droughts.

Earlier, the Government allocated VND 100.1 billion (US $5.3 million) from the State budget for drought mitigation activities in 12 cities and provinces in favor of the winter-spring crop.
