Gov’t submits TOC Convention for approval
VGP – The Prime Minister has sent a statement to the State President to ask for ratification of the United Nations Convention on Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) and the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons.

Joining the Convention and Protocol, Việt Nam hopes to realize the National Action Plan on Anti-money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing between February 2011 and December 2012.
In the long term, the ratification of the documents will create a legal foundation for right protection of interests of the State, legal entities and citizens and help Việt Nam access to legal and technical assistance from other countries.
In addition, this is a good chance for Việt Nam to formulate and strengthen cooperative mechanisms with other countries in combating transnational crime.
Việt Nam signed the TOC Convention in Palermo, Italy in December 2000./.
