The draft Decree, which was brought to discussions since 2009, will be made public for comments in the coming time, Minister Dam said.
Following the adoption of this Decree, the Government will continue finalizing another Decree on financial management and State capital use in SOEs and Regulations on corporate financial supervision.
At present, Vietnam has 1,300 SOEs in which the State holds 100% capital.
Over the past years, SOEs have taken an important role in socio-economic development thanks to their contributions to State budget, poverty reduction and national defense.
However, the efficiency of SOEs remains low while administration capacity has not been improved quickly enough to meet real requirements.
In a bid to address the issue, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung signed Decision 929/QD-TTg on July 17, 2012 to approve the Project on restructuring SOEs, focusing on economic corporations and groups for the 2011 – 2015 period./.
