On the half of the Vietnamese Government, Prime Minister Dung highly valued the outcomes of the talks held between the two countries’ top legislators on July 22.

He believed that the outcomes of the Cambodian leader’s visit would effectively contribute to consolidating and enhancing the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Vietnam always attaches importance to the friendly relationship with Cambodia and will strive to deepen the bilateral ties in all fields, Prime Minister Dung affirmed.

He hoped that both sides would continue fruitfully realizing agreements and cooperative programs reached by the two countries’ leaders.

The Vietnamese Government chief also voiced Vietnam’s strong support for Cambodia to successfully fulfill the role of ASEAN Chair 2012 for Cambodia’s candidacy for a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Both sides need to closely coordinate to organize activities marking the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2012, beef up cooperation in national defense and security, and timely complete the land border demarcation, PM Dung said.

President Heng Samrin said his visit aims to foster the traditional and friendly relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.

He expressed his belief that the bilateral ties would expand deeply and widely thanks to the two sides’ joint efforts.

Receiving Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An on the same day, Prime Minister Dung said Vietnam would closely cooperate with Cambodia to boost cooperation in politics, economics, national defense, culture among others.

He affirmed that Vietnam is always a trustworthy and loyal friend of Cambodia.

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An said the two sides should enhance dissemination of information on the traditional friendship and cooperation in a bid to preserve the solidarity between the two countries.
