India recognizes VN as a real market economy
VGP – Vietnamese PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and Indian PM Manmohan Singh, who are both staying in Cha-am Hua Hin, Thailand for the 15th ASEAN Summit, on Sunday witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on India’s recognition of Việt Nam’s full market economy.

PM Manmohan Singh reiterated that his Government and India places a special importance on the strategic partnership with Việt Nam . The Indian business circle is also much interested in business and investment activities in Việt Nam he added, hoping that the upcoming visits to India by Vietnamese State President Nguyễn Minh Triết and NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng will surely deepen the Việt Nam-India Partnership. PM Manmohan Singh stated that, after signing the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on commodity, India is willing to negotiate for a new FTA on services and investment with ASEAN.
