VN’s legislative body starts building new headquarters

VGP – The construction of the new headquarters of the National Assembly (NA) was kick-started on October 12 in Hà Nội in the attendance of many senior leaders of the Government, the NA, ministries, agencies, sectors and Hà Nội’s authorities..

Addressing the event, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng praised the Steering Committee for Construction of New National Assembly Building, Ministry of Construction (MOC) – project investor, and other relevant bodies and agencies for their efforts to overcome difficulties and prepare necessary conditions for the construction.

The Government chief suggested the implementers strictly comply with the State’s regulations on investment and construction in order to realize the project on schedule at good quality and in safety.

The PM also noted the necessity to check the quality of each work item.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on May 16, 2008 appointed GMP International GMbH-Inros Lackner AG, the designing consultant which won the top prize in an architectural competition, to make the investment project on the National Assembly Building.

The investment project was approved by the Government chief on October 9, 2009.

The building has five floors and two basements with a total area of almost 62,000 square meters.

The project, invested with VND 4,797 billion, would be completed in Q3, 2012.
