The national single window customs mechanism is an integrated system that allows all stakeholders involved in import-export activities to submit or send standardized information and documents to the single processing unit.

The first organizations and agencies that will apply the mechanism include those of the ministries of Finance, Industry and Trade, Transport, Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, National Resources and Environment, and relevant state agencies in localities.

The mechanism will be also applied to importers and exporters which have engaged in electronic customs.

From October 2011 to December 2012, Việt Nam will build up legal documents and procedures, prepare information technology infrastructure, and construct national single window customs information technology systems.

From January 2013 to December 2014, the mechanism will be applied to the organizations and agencies. From December 2014, the mechanism implementation will be reviewed for the next stage of implementation.
