The new education model will be realized in six provinces including Lào Cai, Hà Giang, Hoà Bình, Khánh Hoà, Kon Tum and Đắk Lắk within three years from June 2012 to June 2015.
The model is expected to renew the quality of teaching and learning in the way that teachers have to exchange and improve their knowledge and students have to exchange their views with teachers and other students.
Besides focusing on teaching both Vietnamese and ethnic minority languages, schools for ethnic students will support and encourage disadvantaged ones to go to school.
In addition, the model will balance the gap between students in cities and mountainous and ethnic areas.
The project will apply achievements and experiences in other advanced countries to guarantee that by 2015, all the children will go to school and complete their primary education in a free, compulsory and qualified manner.
GPE’s financial resources are sponsored by individuals and organizations from 20 countries and 50 countries have been benefited so far. In the recent eight years, GPE has helped 50% of the beneficial countries’ population to go to schools.
Each year, the fund provides a non-refundable aid of US $500 million and this year, the figure is scheduled to increase to US $700 million for education.
