PM Dũng receives new ambassador from Argentina, Norway

VGP – Receiving the newly-appointed ambassadors of Argentina and Norway on Tuesday, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng expressed his confidence that the diplomats will help to cement and deepen the friendship and cooperation between their countries and Việt Nam.

In his reception given to Argentina’s Ambassador Alberto Jaime Kaminker, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng showed his pleasure at the advancements of the Việt Nam–Argentina relationship, especially in terms of politics and diplomacy, stating that this is a solid foundation for the two sides to expand cooperation to other fields.

Though rapidly flourishing, commercial ties between the two countries still have many potentials to further bloom, benefiting both sides, said the host leader.

Expressing his admiration to the country and people of Việt Nam in their struggle for national independence in the past and the cause of national construction at present, Ambassador Alberto Jaime Kaminker vowed to do his utmost to make his term of office in Việt Nam a great success.

The diplomat stressed the significance of 2010 when Việt Nam celebrates the 1000 th anniversary of the foundation of its capital city Thăng Long–Hà Nội and Argentina welcomes its 200 th National Day celebration.

He revealed that the Argentine Embassy is planning to collaborate with Vietnamese partners in joint cultural activities to increase mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Welcoming Ambassador Stale Torstein Risa of the Kingdom of Norway, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng reiterated Việt Nam’s consistent policy to bring new depth and focus to the relations with the Northern European country.

He took the occasion to show his hope that Norway will support the debut of the Vietnamese Embassy in Oslo.

Mr. Stale Torstein Risa pledged to spare no effort in promoting the cooperation between the two countries, especially in maritime, shipbuilding, afforestation, fisheries, and energy.

Norway is willing to transfer its shipbuilding technologies to Việt Nam and help to train Vietnamese engineers, he said.
