In his working session with the Project Management Board (PMB), representatives of contractors and stakeholders, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng reconfirmed the importance of the oil refinery.

In its experimental operation, this national project produced the first batch of gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, FO, and propylene on February 22, 2009.

The Government chief asked the PMB and the Assessment Council to promptly solve all technical errors in order to guarantee the smooth operation of the refinery.

As reported by the PMB, the refinery temporarily stopped on August 18 due to a technical breakdown in the Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) workshop.

The investor and contractor Technip are now trying best to be able to resume the refinery’s operation within September.

Up to its temporary pause, Dung Quất Oil Refinery produced 38,888 tons of LPG, nearly 199,000 tons of gasoline A92, more than 142,000 tons of diesel oil, over 38,000 tons of kerosene and 18,000 tons of FO.
