PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng oversees flood-hit Ninh Bình and Thanh Hóa
VNGOP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and the Government’s working team paid an inspection tour in the morning of October 07 to Ninh Bình and Thanh Hóa, two among the provinces heavily damaged by Typhoon Lekima.
 |  | Inundated Nho Quan District (Ninh Bình) and Thạch Thành District (Thanh Hóa) - Photo: VNGOP | Due to Typhoon Lekima, Ninh Bình suffered heavy rains and high floods submerged more than 17,000 households in Nho Quan and Gia Viễn Districts, over 3,100 ha of winter crop, 1,500 ha of the unharvested ripen rice, nearly 940 km of countryside roads, and 31 schools. The total damage is estimated to be VND 200 billion.  |  | PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng consoles people evacuating from flood in Nho Quan and Gia Viễn Districts - Photo: VNGOP | After visiting the people in the flooded areas in Nho Quan District, in the working session with leaders of Ninh Bình Province, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng urged local authorities and armed forces to focus on (1) taking care of the people and providing food and clean water to the flood evacuees; (2) promptly carrying out hygienic work, preventing epidemics, providing farmers with varieties to restore production and bring people back to their normal life in the post-flood period. The PM entrusted the Ministry of Finance to timely fund the typhoon-hit provinces. He also asked the ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to set up the plans on flood divergence to control rivers and help people build solid houses. Before returning Hà Nội, PM Dũng took a helicopter tour to view inundation situation in the central province of Thanh Hóa. By Hoàng Nguyên Hồ |
