PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng receives Russian nuclear senior official

VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on June 17 in Hà Nội warmly welcomed Mr. Nikolay Georgievich Kutyin, Chairman of the Federal Environment, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russian (FEINSSR), during the latter’s working visit to Việt Nam.

The Government chief underlined that Việt Nam’s decision to seal with Russian partner the contract on building the first nuclear power plant has vividly illustrated the strategic ties between the two countries.

He went on to applaud the outcomes of discussions and cooperation between Mr. Nikolay Georgievich Kutyin and leaders of the Việt Nam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) in designing laws and legal documents for nuclear safety.

Mr. Dũng also hoped that the FEINSSR would reinforce ties with the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology, the VARANS and other Vietnamese relevant agencies to successfully set up a system of legal regulations and standards on nuclear safety, train nuclear experts and ensure absolute safety for the important plant.

For his part, Chairman Nikolay Georgievich Kutyin pledged to share with Vietnamese partner experience of making laws and regulations on nuclear safety supervision and operation s.

During the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Việt Nam , according to the guest, the FEINSSR is ready to help secure safe radiation and radioactivity and train human resources for Việt Nam.
