The Vietnamese PM made the statement on December 6 while receiving Ms. Victoria Kwakwa, WB Country Director for Viet Nam and discussing preparations for the upcoming Consultative Group meeting planned to open on December 10.

PM Dung confirmed that Viet Nam is willing to have dialogues with all sponsors and partners.

Mentioning the country’s development policies, the PM emphasized that the Government will insist on inflation control, macro-economic stability, proper growth rate and social security. Viet Nam is sparing no effort to restructure its economy, focusing on public investments, banking system and State-owned enterprises (SOEs), added the Government chief.

In 2013, the Vietnamese Government will drastically clear bad debts and reorganize banks and SOEs, PM Dung said, expecting to get assistance and consultancy from the WB.

Ms. Victoria Kwakwa affirmed that the WB will stand side by side with Viet Nam and suggested the Government push up economic reforms, especially establishing monitor mechanisms and clearing bad debts.
