PM Dung said the program has concretized the Party Central Committee's Resolution on agriculture, farmers and rural development, enhanced the effectiveness of agricultural production and people’s living standards, guaranteed the sustainable growth of the nation and developed the nation as a modernity-oriented industrial country by 2020.
He asked functional ministries and agencies to apply science and technology into agricultural and aquaculture production, increase the quality and competitiveness of Vietnamese products and improve people’s living condition.
The PM suggested proposing policies to encourage investment in rural areas and mobilize other resources in fields of infrastructure, irrigation, health, education and telecommunication in rural areas as well as train human resources and create jobs for this area.
PM Dung also asked for due attention to poverty reduction programs in rural areas and provide capital for farmers to promote production.
