PM heads to Switzerland for WEF

VGP – At the invitation of Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his entourage on Monday embarked on a working visit to Davos, Switzerland, to attend the 40th WEF Annual Meeting 2010 from January 25 to 31.

At the WEF, the Vietnamese PM will take part in large-scale seminars on “Rebuilding Long-Term Economic Growth”; “Global Governance Redesigned”; “Better Food for Better Health”; and “Towards an East Asian Community”.

He will also have dialogues with the world’s leading CEOs and meet with international mass media to introduce prospects of the Vietnamese economy, the country’s ASEAN presidency in 2010 and the organization of World Economic Forum on East Asia in 2010.

On the sidelines, the Government chief plans to meet with some country and corporation leaders.

As scheduled, PM Dũng will have discussions with leaders and senior experts of the UN and WTO.

Under the theme “Improve the State of the World: Rethink, Redesign, Rebuild”, the WEF Annual Meeting 2010 is supposed to draw the participation of over 2,500 representatives of politics, business, academia and press to focus on six global targets: strengthening economic and social welfare; mitigating global risks and addressing systemic failures; ensuring sustainability; enhancing security; creating a values framework; and building effective institutions.
