VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Saturday left for the regional summits in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, at the invitation of his Cambodian counterpart Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
During his stay in Cambodia from November 17-20, PM Dung will attend the 21st ASEAN Summit, ASEAN Plus Three Summit, East Asia Summit (EAS), and ASEAN PLus One Summit.
Dignitaries to these summits will focus on discussing measures to beef up ASEAN Community building, maintain solidarity and central role of ASEAN in addressing key issues relevant to peace, security, stability and cooperation within the region and expand relations with ASEAN’s partners.
On the sidelines of this year’s summits, a meeting between ASEAN leaders and ASEAN Business Advisory Council and ASEAN Global Dialogue will also take place.
At present, ASEAN is giving top priority to enhancing regional connectivity through fruitfully deploying the Roadmap for an ASEAN Community. The bloc is also implementing the Master Plan for ASEAN Connectivity in various fields like infrastructure, institution, and people. ASEAN will also step up multi-level connectivity with its partners.
It is expected that ASEAN leaders will sign Phnom Penh Declaration, ASEAN ASEAN Human Rights Declaration (AHRD), A Declaration in consideration of the establishment of ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC), and Plan of Action to realize the Bali Concord III.
