PM meets Argentinean and US guests

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on March 23 in Hà Nội separately met with Argentinean FM Hector Timerman and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who are on working visits to Việt Nam.

PM Dũng highly spoke of the recent talks between Argentinean FM Hector Timerman and his Vietnamese counterpart.

The host leader said he hoped that the two sides would support each other at multilateral forums and push up two-way trade higher from the current figure of US$1 billion.

For his part, FM Hector Timerman proposed that Việt Nam and Argentina would have more cooperation agreements, especially in economics, to tap respective potentials and boost trade ties.

The guest leader also suggested other fields for bilateral cooperation, namely environmenta protection and response to climate change and sea level rise.

Receiving New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, PM Dũng said the relations between Việt Nam and the US have flourished in many fields especially economics, trade and investment.

The PM took the occasion to thank Mr. Michael Bloomberg for his helmet donation program for Vietnamese kids.

PM Dũng also appreciated Bloomberg for publishing subjective information on the economic reality in Việt Nam and contributing to helping the outside world understand more about the country. 

The PM hoped that the US Government and New York leaders would provide more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese overseas community to stabilize their lives.

Mr. Michael Bloomberg promised that he would contribute to boosting cooperative ties between New York and Vietnamese localities./.
