The event coincided with the 40th anniversary of former Cuban President Fidel Castro’s visit to Viet Nam.

The host leader affirmed that Viet Nam always respects and spares no effort to work to develop the cooperative ties with Cuba in a practical and efficient way.

Viet Nam also stands ready to promote agricultural cooperation with Cuba and seeks Cuba’s support for overseas Vietnamese investors to do long-term business there.

For his part, Mr. Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz said that he was glad to witness the developments in bilateral ties especially economics, trade and investment, and hoped to learn from Vietnam's socio-economic development experience.

Cuba would create favorable ways for respective businesses to expand business and investment activities in order to make economic ties more productive to match with the fine political and diplomatic relations.

Viet Nam will hold a meeting on September 19-20 in the central province of Quang Tri to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Fidel Castro’s visit to Viet Nam when it entered in the most drastic period against US invaders./.
