The PM made the call at the two-day meeting ended on December 31 between the Government and localities to discuss the implementation of the National Assembly’s Resolution on socio-economic development and state budget for 2011.
The Government leader praised the efforts from ministries and localities to concretizing the preset targets of 2010 in the context of lingering impacts of the global crisis and economic downturn, and serious natural disasters.
The outstanding achievements in 2010 include macro-economic stability, two-digit industrial growth, stronger public investment, and the foreign direct investment still high, thus reflecting the domestic and international community’s confidence in Viet Nam’s business environment, he said.

The PM stressed that localities should focus on controlling prices and interest rate, especially during the upcoming Lunar New Year festival.
He also asked ministries and localities to concentrate all resources on addressing social issues such as employment, poverty reduction, health and education.
For the year 2011, he suggested that the Government, ministries and localities should strive to improve their forecasting capacity, thus making timely and urgent responses to arising situations.
“The Government, ministries and localities should pay attention to completing management institutions and mechanisms, especially in the fields of land, mineral, forest and environment,” he noted.
According to the PM, all ideas contributed by localities at the meeting will be studied in the process of drafting a Government resolution on measures to implement the 2011 socio-economic development plan and State budget estimates. The resolution will be issued in the coming days./.
