The Government chief made the point on August 23 in the southern city of Can Tho during a working session with the Party Committee of Zone High Command.

The working session drew the participation of local leaders of Mekong delta provinces and cities to talk about defense-security tasks.

The PM hailed the efforts and achievements of Military Zone 9 in consulting and coordinating with localities to ensure national defense and security, social order and safety in the region.

The Party Committee of Military Zone 9 High Command has directed armed forces of the zone and 12 provinces and cities in the region to fulfill all assigned tasks, strengthening defense and security in accordance with socio-economic development in the region.

He tasked the unit to support flooding and disaster areas and to cooperate with local agencies to assist beneficiaries in accessing to Government’s support policies.

The Military Zone 9 was asked to effectively implement the resolution on party building and the campaign of studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples, which have drawn the active engagement of collectives and individuals.

Earlier, PM Dung on August 22 met with the Party Committee of Military Zone 7 High Command in Ho Chi Minh City./.
