PM’s busy day on sidelines of Nuclear Security Summit

VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on Monday met with his French counterpart  Francois Fillon , German FM Guido Westerwelle, and Dutch FM Uri Rosenthal on the sidelines of the second Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul, the Republic of Korea.

In his meeting with French PM, the Government chief showed his pleasure at the fine developments of the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Việt Nam and France. Both sides are working towards establishing strategic partnership.

The two PMs agreed that the two countries should enhance exchange of senior delegations and actively coordinate to organize the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2013.

They also agreed to beef up cooperation, particularly in energy, aviation, transport infrastructure, education and training.

PM Dũng thanked French Government for its fund worth €100 million for Việt Nam to build the Hà Nội Science and Technology University.

Receiving German FM Guido Westerwelle, PM Dũng extended his condolences over the death of German Ambassador to Việt Nam Claus Wunderlich. He appreciated the diplomat’s active contributions to the establishment of strategic partnership between Việt Nam and Germany.

Both sides need to work together to effectively implement joint projects and agreements enshrined in the “Hà Nội Joint Declaration: Việt Nam and Germany- Strategic partnership for future” signed last year.

PM Dũng highly valued the efficiency of Germany-funded projects on environment, sustainable development, healthcare in Việt Nam

Meeting with Dutch FM Uri Rosenthal, PM Dũng noted that the bilateral relations between Việt Nam and the Netherlands have been flourishing in various areas, especially climate change adaptation and water management.

FM Uri Rosenthal affirmed the Dutch Government’s commitment to assist Việt Nam in building international law capacity.
