Program on technological support to disadvantaged regions approved
VGP - The PM has approved a program on supporting scientific and technological transfer and application to boost socio-economic development in rural, mountainous and ethnic minority areas in the 2016-2025 period.

The program aims at building at least 1,200 effective scientific and technological transfer and application models which are appropriate with each eco region, including at least 30% of the models to be implemented in mountainous and ethic minority regions, at least 20% to be in value chains to provide better livelihoods for people and at least 1,500 new technologies to the targeted regions.
The program also helps train and improve project management and implementation and technological transfer and application for at least 1,500 officers, 2,500 technical workers at grassroots levels and 80,000 farmers to ensure the realization of transferred scientific and technological applications in localities.
In addition, in 2021-2025, it is expected to have at least 10 scientific and technological enterprises involving in technological and scientific transfer to be estalished to help the development in the targeted regions.
