The new action program targets to successfully implement the National Strategy on Gender Equality in the 2011-2020 period.

The new action program chiefly focuses on  information dissemination; raising public awareness and altering behaviour on gender equality especially through press media, editors, reporters, freelancers; and crafting a pilot model of indicators on gender equality.

In addition, it targets to raise awareness on the field for every groups of subjects and areas through different measures like culture and arts; compose communication work on gender equality; and organize campaigns to encourage men and boys to participate in gender equality; eradicate gender inequality in the community.

An action month on gender equality and prevention of violence on women will take place annually from November 15 to December 15. The annual event aims to commend and reward individuals and collectives for their contributions to gender equality.

In addition, the program also looks to increase the number of female elective deputies at all levels./.
